The Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 is a semi-ruggedised desktop replacement for use in the field. Its keyboard is splash resistant and it has a solid outer shell with a built-in carrying handle. Plus, the laptop should survive a 76cm drop, if you happen to knock it off your deskWe Like: Very solid outer casing; spill-resistant keyboard and touch pad; wide-aspect-ratio 15.4-inch screen
We Don't Like: Large and heavy; some ports are unprotected; disappointing battery life
Judgement: The Toughbook CF-52 is a solidly built ’semi-ruggedised’ laptop with a hardened outer casing, shock-mounted hard disk and covered ports. However, this heavy system isn’t the most portable and its battery life falls a long way short of Panasonic’s claims
