UK charity founded in 1972 to help people in the developing world to secure lasting improvements in the quality of their lives. It has sister organizations in other industrialized countries and by 1990 had projects in 18 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, concentrating on long-term integrated rural development in the areas of water, health, agriculture, education, and income generation and reaching 3 million of the world's poorest people. It has over 110,000 active individual supporters and an annual income in excess of £35 million.

Yellow symbolizes the golden land of South America. Red stands for courage and the blood of the freedom fighters. Blue represents the ocean separating South America from Spain. Effective date: 17 February 1954. >>
