US vehicle manufacturer. Founded in 1908 in Flint, Michigan, from a number of small carmakers, it grew into the USA's largest company. A multinational company; it has headquarters in Detroit, Michigan, and its brands include Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Corvette, GMC, Hummer, Pontiac, and Saturn in the USA, Opel in Germany, and Vauxhall in the UK, as well as the formerly Swedish-owned Saab.
