Pacific Community


Organization to promote economic and social cooperation in the region, including dialogue between Pacific countries and those, such as France and the UK, that have dependencies in the region. It was established in February 1947. Its members include American Samoa, Australia, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji Islands, France, French Polynesia, Guam, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, Northern Marianas, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, United Kingdom, United States of America, Vanuatu, and Wallis and Futuna; headquarters are in Nouméa, New Caledonia.
