Labyrinthitis

Inflammation of the part of the inner ear responsible for the sense of balance (the labyrinth). It results in dizziness, which may then cause nausea and vomiting. It is usually caused by a viral infection of the ear (otitis), which resolves in a few weeks. The nausea and vomiting may respond to anti-emetic drugs.
