Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, Quinn moved to Los Angeles, California, at the age of two with his parents. He dropped out of high school and eventually became a preacher with the evangelist Aimee McPherson. By 1936, he was acting on stage with Mae West and appeared as an extra in the Gary Cooper western The Plainsman. In addition to acting, he enjoyed painting and sculpting.
Red, yellow, and green are the pan-African colours. Effective date: 24 September 1973.
