Mifune, Toshiro


Japanese film actor. He was known for his portrayal of samurai and appeared in many films directed by Akira Kurosawa, including Rashomon (1950), Shichinin no samurai/Seven Samurai (1954), and Kumonosu-jo/Throne of Blood (1957). He also occasionally appeared in European and US films, such as Grand Prix (1966) and Hell in the Pacific (1969).
