Border, Allan Robert


Australian cricketer, left-handed batsman, and captain of Australia 1985–94. He retired from international cricket in 1994 as holder of world records for most Test runs (11,174), most Test matches as captain (93), most appearances in Test matches (156), most consecutive appearances in Test matches (153), most catches in Test matches by an outfielder (156), and most appearances in One-day internationals (273). Border played for Queensland after starting his career with New South Wales and played in England for Gloucestershire and Essex.
